Numenera - Oreo's Nightmare

 One by one they turn away and leave...

 

Ambrose

Ambrose is immaculate. His clothes are perfectly laundered with crisp creases. He looks at Oreo one last time. 

"Worthless." he sneers.

He then turns away and activates a cypher with his thumb. As unknown numenera power envelopes him, he levitates and moves away from Oreo, gaining altitude as he departs.

Silvani

There is a smile on Silvani's face as he looks at Oreo. 

"You are the inspiration for my new composition. I shall call it *The Simpleton - Oreo* and it shall be my masterpiece!"

With that, Silvani springs away and dives into a nearby lake. After a few practiced strokes he rises above the water and is dancing and striding on its surface. As he moves away to the far side of the lake he mimics and ridicules Oreo's movements, laughing merrily as he does so.

Ilo

Ilo looks at Oreo and says,

"You have no use and no purpose." He then moves to a waiting creature, and esculant, and proceeds to feed on its flesh. The creature in turn starts to consume the metal parts of Ilo.

With a gesture, Ilo commands the creature to pause and regards Oreo again. 

"Of course you don't understand." they say, "How could you?"

Haro

Haro is kind and sad, and there is deep sympathy in her eyes as she says,

"I too am going now Oreo. I have decided to leave you forever. Where I go you cannot follow. Even if you could, I would forbid it."

Haro's face then turns as dark as night and grows large. The starpoint tattoos on her face become the stars of the night sky. The features of her face coalesce and become the nebulae between stars.

 

Parent

There is disappointment on the face of Oreo's parent

"Did I not teach you to sync with and be free within the wild spaces? Why then do you seek these dark places? Why do you travel with these people animals?"

"You seek to stride across three worlds and so cannot belong to any of them. You have not learned anything. I have wasted my time."

"You are not pack."

Oreo wakes.
